You have been offered a work assignment, what happens now?

THE HIRING PROCESS:

  • The school site or department will email Human Resources with “Authorization to Hire” which will include your full name and position.

  • You will be directed to pick up your hiring information at our District office:

                                                 San Marcos Unified School District
                                                 Human Resources and Development
                                                 255 Pico Avenue, Suite 250
                                                 San Marcos, CA  92069
                                                 Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm 

  • This hiring information packet will provide you with information and location on the fingerprinting process.  The fee for your fingerprinting is $74.00.  You will also be required to obtain a current (within 60 days) TB test at a location of your choice.
  • Next you will print and complete your “new hire” packet (see link below) which will also have instructions and a checklist for other requirements necessary in the hiring process.

  • The Department of Justice will provide us with the results of your fingerprints and you will be contacted by Human Resources to schedule an appointment for your new hire orientation.  You will be asked to bring the following to your scheduled appointment:

             1.     Your COMPLETED new hire packet including
                     Mandated Reporter completion certificate

             2.     TB test results

             3.     Driver’s license

             4.     Social Security card (signed)

  • At your scheduled Orientation appointment, your new hire documents will be reviewed for accuracy and completion.

  • Finally, we will contact your school site or department manager to let them know you have completed the new hire process and are clear to start your assignment.
