A Special Welcome to San Marcos Middle School from the PTO
Who belongs to the PTO?
All of our parents and teachers belong to the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). We focus on several goals which include assisting the principal, helping our students excel in their education, and helping enrich the school environment for learning. Through various fundraisers held during the year, we are able to give our students that full, fun middle school experience they deserve as kids. Studies show that students thrive in an environment where family and school work closely together. It's this cooperation that grows successful students.
Parents, middle school is not a time to step back, it's a time to step up and get involved in your student's school. Don't be fooled by your student's new found level (and expression) of independence. Sometimes it may even feel like they are pushing you away. Respect these changes but commit to staying involved in their lives. In the long run, everyone will benefit.
Wondering how you can have a positive impact at San Marcos Middle School? Come to one of the PTO meetings and see what's going on. All parents/guardians are welcome. The only thing you have to bring is a good attitude. And, if you're a parent of a 5th grader and are looking for a way to get involved for next year, come check out one of the meetings. It's a great way to see SMMS from the inside. Hope to see you at the next meeting.
Our meetings are held on campus. Just check the website calendar for up-to-date information regarding the meetings. Please come and assist us in making your child’s school experience the best that it can be. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact the PTO at (760) 290-2500 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
