Yes. If you currently have a 4th grader at San Elijo Elementary or Discovery Elementary (and are zoned for Double Peak School) and are planning on exercising the grandfathering policy to stay at current school, you must complete an intra-district transfer form at the SMUSD District Office.
Will there be Kids on Campus at Double Peak School?
Kids on Campus, our before and after school daycare program, will be available for kindergarten through 5th grade. Registration begins March 9th and packets will be available online, at the district office, and at each center. If you are applying for an intra-district transfer, you must enroll for your home school and indicate on the enrollment form that you are applying for a transfer. If your transfer is accepted, you must notify KOC immediately. We are currently researching other types of programs for our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. What do I need to do if I currently live in the Double Peak attendance boundary, but my child does not attend school within SMUSD?
Your child would be considered a new student to SMUSD and will need to enroll with Double Peak School. New student packets will be available March 1st at the SMUSD District Office, Suite 170. Registration dates are listed on the DPS website calendar.

No, but it will have an instrumental
music emphasis. Currently, we are in the
process of developing a K-8 instrument music curriculum. The school design has a performance stage,
band room, practice rooms, and an elementary music room.
What will be special about
Double Peak School?
The school will be offering 3
unique opportunities for all of our students:
Instrumental Music, Art and Innovation (engineering, design and
coding). All students will have access
to each of these unique opportunities starting in kindergarten. These opportunities will build upon each
other creating a K-8 articulated experience.
Will there be a GATE program and Honors Courses?
The GATE program will begin in 4th grade for students who qualify and
the amount of accelerated classes (6th & 7th grade) will be
determined based on the number of students who meet the criteria.
