Tracy Garcia


 Tracy Garcia, Director of Elementary Education

Tracy Garcia began working in the San Marcos Unified School District in 1991 as a teacher at Paloma Elementary and Carrillo Elementary. She served seven years as a Teacher on Special Assignment as an Instructional Support Specialist and Intervention Specialist. She began her administrative role at Paloma Elementary as an assistant principal and then served as principal for three years before coming to the district office as Director of Elementary Education. She received her bachelors and teaching credential from University of California, San Diego and her masters from California State University, San Marcos.



 Elementary Education Department

The Elementary Education department supports the curriculum and instruction for the twelve elementary sites in the San Marcos Unified School District in order for students to achieve the state standards. In collaboration with teachers, we have developed timelines, instructional materials, and assessments to ensure all students receive a guaranteed viable curriculum. In addition, we provide ongoing professional development for our teachers to prepare them to deliver 21st Century learning in the classroom.
