SMUSD is planning to offer two learning models for students in grades K - 5.

Option 1: Full-time, in-person instruction, 5 days a week

Option 2: Foothills K-5 Independent Study Program
In compliance with Assembly Bill 130, SMUSD will offer an Independent Study option utilizing an online platform in which students follow a self-paced curriculum from home.

• Students are required to meet daily with the Independent Study Teacher.
• Students in grades K-5 will participate in self-paced online curriculum assessments, and local reading and math diagnostic assessments.
• Students in grades 3-5 will participate in state testing.
• Students will be enrolled in Foothills and not their school of residence.
