Secondary Learning Options 2021-22

SMUSD will offer three learning models for students in grades 6 - 12.

Option 1: Full-time, in-person instruction, 5 days a week

Option 2: Foothills 6-12 Independent Study Program
In compliance with Assembly Bill 130, SMUSD will offer an Independent Study option utilizing an online platform in which students follow a self-paced curriculum from home.
  • SMUSD-aligned middle and high school core and elective courses including advanced placement courses.
  • Foothills 6-12 is an accredited independent study program; all courses meet SMUSD and college entrance requirements.
  • Flexible scheduling and pacing; students work at their own pace and asynchronously.
  • Students are required to meet with their assigned monitoring teacher.
  • Students will be enrolled in Foothills and not their school of residence.
