Yamaha Honors Anastasia Homes In Their Second Annual 40 Under 40 Music Educators
For the second year in a row, Yamaha has selected 40 exceptional music educators under the age of 40 from across the country possessing action, courage, creativity, and growth characteristics while going above and beyond when instructing music programs.
Hundreds of nominations were received by students, parents, teachers, and local instrument dealers and mentors, highlighting the music educators impacting their community and students in a positive direction. We are proud to share that San Elijo Middle School Director of Bands, Anastasia Homes, was presented as one of Yamaha’s 40 under 40.
Homes oversees the school’s Jazz Band, Wind Symphony, and three beginning band classes. Additionally, she guides student musicians in solo or ensembles and co-teaches the Golden Eagle Band.
“I was surprised and humbled,” said Homes. “I work hard because I love my job and it doesn’t feel like work because it brings me so much joy. I have an amazing team, my co-direct Shannon McIinnis and music coaches, help create the high achieving program we have. This recognition should not be just for me but for all who make the San Elijo Music Program great!”
