HOW TO BECOME A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
1. Apply online at www.edjoin.org
Application must include 2 attachments:
1. 30-Day Emergency Substitute Permit
2. Negative TB Test
2. After you have received your email from Edjoin which will provide you with instructions,
please complete the SMUSD Sub Certificated New Hire Packet, then print
(make sure all fields are complete and include signatures - do not print double sided)
DO NOT COMPLETE YOUR PACKET UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO DO SO
3. Take Mandated Reporter Training Course and print completion certificate
4. Review Safety Manual and Substitute Teacher Handbook
