  • Project Scope:

    The District partnered with ENGIE Services U.S., Inc – a leader in net-zero energy transition – on a $28.2 million Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Project. Launched in spring of 2023, this initative marks a major milestone in the district's commitment to environmental and fiscal responsibility. The project comprehensive upgrades are designed to create a greener, healthier environment for students, staff, and the community.

    LED Lighting Retrofits:

    • The District upgraded all interior and exterior lighting to energy-efficient LEDs.

     

    Solar and Facility Upgrades:

    • San Marcos High School: Installed five new solar arrays, along with lighting and egress (exit pathway) enhancements for the football field and track.

    • District Office: Installed a roof-mounted solar array, a 58 kW DC canopy solar structure, a new roof, and upgraded HVAC heating and cooling equipment.

    • Transportation Yard (Phase I): Installed two solar arrays over the existing bus parking lot and added 40 Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to reduce emissions and support sustainable transit.

  • Mission Hills High School Sitewide Athletic Improvements Project

    Project Scope:

    • Stadium: Replacement of artificial turf and replacement of synthetic track including the “D” area.
    • Practice Field: Replacement of grass field with artificial turf and installation of field lights.
    • Tennis Courts: Replacement of ten (10) tennis courts with eight (8) new post-tension concrete tennis courts and conversion of two (2) existing tennis courts into three (3) beach volleyball courts. New drainage of the surrounding slopes.

    Budget: $13.5M - Measure JJ and CFDs

    • Removal and replacement of existing fields with artificial turf mounted on top of external drainage system.
    • Installation of retention seat walls.
    • Installation of shade structure.
    • Removal and replacement of existing asphalt play areas with newly designed play area including ball walls, basketball standards, and tetherball poles.
