Sexual Health Education

Sexual Health Education

As part of our commitment to providing students with accurate, age-appropriate health education, sixth-, eighth-, and ninth-grade students will participate in health instruction aligned with the California Healthy Youth Act (Education Code sections 51930–51939).

San Marcos Unified is committed to partnering with families to support students’ overall well-being and development. This webpage is designed to provide clear, transparent information about Sexual Health Education instruction, including what will be taught, how it supports student health and safety, and the rights families have to review materials and make informed decisions.

We recognize that health and human development topics are personal and value the important role families play in these conversations. Our goal is to ensure families have access to the information and resources needed to feel informed, supported, and engaged.
