Sexual Health Education

As part of our commitment to providing students with accurate, age-appropriate health education, sixth-, eighth-, and ninth-grade students will participate in health instruction aligned with the California Healthy Youth Act (Education Code sections 51930–51939).

This webpage is designed to provide clear, transparent information about Sexual Health Education instruction, including the curriculum that will be taught, how parents and families can review it, how it supports student health and safety, and the rights families have to review materials and make informed decisions.

We recognize that health and human development topics are personal and value the important role families play in these conversations. Our goal is to ensure families have access to the information and resources needed to feel informed, supported, and engaged.

Grade-Level Instructional Materials & Resources

Families can review the instructional materials for 6th, 8th and 9th grade sexual health units and lessons by visiting their school site’s administration office. The entire curriculum including an overview of topics, unit lessons, and supporting resources to provide a clear understanding of what students will learn at each stage are available for review. No pictures, photo copies or videos may be taken of the curriculum as it is copyrighted material and the materials must remain at the school site.

We encourage families to review these materials in advance and reach out to their site administration with any questions.
