Reverse Mainstream Program

Community Friends/Reverse Mainstreaming Program

The special education, preschool department offers a unique learning experience for all preschoolers.  Our programs serve children with varying exceptionalities, including Autism, communication disorders, intellectual disorders, and related disabilities. Additionally, and in order to promote inclusive preschool settings, we offer preschool experiences to children who live within our District boundaries, and are developing within expected ranges, to act as community friends or peer models, in many of our preschool classes.  Trials for these slots are held twice per year (Fall and Spring).  For more information, please click on the links below or contact Amanda Carlson, Preschool Program Specialist at:  760-290-2950 or amanda.carlson@smusd.org

This program is currently on hold due to Covid-19 health and safety regulations.
